Kick off a love of reading!
2026 is the National Year of Reading, and with this being a World Cup Year, football provides a powerful way to inspire young readers across North Lincolnshire.
At the North Lincolnshire Children’s Literacy Trust, we are passionate about supporting children to see themselves as readers by linking books to their interests. Working with Scunthorpe United Football Club and Study United, we are expanding the impact of the Reading Stars programme; using football-themed texts to build literacy skills, confidence, and a love of reading.
Below you will find downloadable versions of the posters, as well as a Key Stage 2/3 'Football Fixtures' activity booklet, already gifted to North Lincolnshire Schools, should you wish to print additional copies.
